Questions about selling

Do you buy cars, trucks and SUVs?

Yes. Stephen buys vehicles from people in Eden, across Rockingham County and beyond. Call 336-932-2515 and tell him what you have.

How do I get an offer?

Call with the year, make, model, mileage and condition. Then bring the vehicle to the lot at 300 N. Bridge St so Stephen can look it over in person and give you a number. Photos help if you want to start the conversation before you drive over.

What do I need to bring?

Bring the title, your photo ID and all the keys. If you still have a loan on the vehicle, bring the lender's name and your account number so the payoff can be looked up. Bring the registration if you have it.

I still owe money on it. Can I still sell it?

Yes. The lender has to be paid off. If the offer is more than you owe, you get the difference. If you owe more than the offer, you pay the difference to clear the loan. Your lender can give you a payoff amount that is good for a set number of days.

Can I trade it in toward another vehicle?

Yes. The value of your trade can go toward the one you are buying. If you are financing the next vehicle, ask how your trade affects the amount you borrow. See financing.

How do you decide what my vehicle is worth?

Condition, mileage, history, and what similar vehicles are selling for in this area. Stephen will tell you how he got to his number. You are free to get other offers and compare.

What if it does not run or needs work?

Tell Stephen what is wrong when you call. Depending on the vehicle, he may still make an offer. It costs nothing to ask.

I lost the title. What do I do?

Request a duplicate title from the DMV in the state that issued it before you sell. Call Stephen if you are not sure where to start.

Two names are on the title, or the owner has passed away. Now what?

Anyone named on the title may need to sign. If the owner has died, there are extra papers the DMV requires. Call before you come in and Stephen will tell you what is needed so you do not make a wasted trip.

What happens to my license plate and insurance?

In North Carolina the plate belongs to you, not the vehicle, so take it off when the sale is done. Keep your insurance active until the paperwork is finished, then ask your insurer about cancelling or moving the policy.

I live in Virginia. Can I sell to you?

Yes. Call first and tell Stephen where the title was issued, so he can say exactly what he needs from you.
